Tuition and Fees

All candidates for admission to USBI-the Sampoerna University are eligible to apply for one out of five awards. To be considered for these awards, students must demonstrate the following:

  • Strong prior academic achievement in one or more subject area(s); and/or
  • Notable achievement in the areas of leadership, entrepreneurship or social responsibility–characteristics that align with the values and mission of USBI-the Sampoerna University.

 

There are five different awards, each with their own requirements and fee waiver. Candidates may choose any of the awards and will only be considered if they are able to fulfill the requirements below.

 

Rector’s Distinction Award
Fee Waiver: 100%
This prestigious award will only be granted by invitation from the Rector of USBI-the Sampoerna University. Those applying for this award must show:

  • outstanding academic achievement at the national and international level; and
  • a record of all USBI-the Sampoerna University characteristics of leadership, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility.

 

Requirements:

Criteria Results
Average Year 10-11 results Above 8.0
Average Year 12 results Above 8.0
Entrance test score Above 75
Certificate/Award Candidates must submit photocopies of certificates or awards which account to a high personal achievement recognized by the related institution.
Organizational activities Candidates must have been involved in a council or organization, and must have held a leadership position. A proof of participation must also be submitted in the form of a reference letter from their principals.

Personal Statement

Candidates must submit a personal statement depicting:

 

  1. Why they believe they deserve to recieve the award.
  2. How they will contribute to Indonesia in the future.

(One page maximum)

Reference from School Candidates must obtain a Reference Letter from their principals, and must also include acknowledgements or statements regarding all requirements for this award.

 

Dean’s Excellence Award
Fee Waiver: 100%
This prestigious award will only be granted by invitation from the Faculty Dean of USBI-the Sampoerna University. Those applying for this award must show:

  • outstanding academic achievement at the national and international level; and
  • a record of two of the Sampoerna University of either leadership, entrepreneurship or social responsibility.

 

Requirements

Average score on student’s report from year 10 to 11 Above 8.0
Average score on student’s report in year 12 Above 8.0
Entrance test score Above 75
Certificate/Award Candidates must submit photocopies of certificates or awards which account to a high personal achievement recognized by the related institution.

Academic Achievement Award
Fee Waiver: 40%
This award is reserved for high performers. It seeks to obtain students who have a focus on achieving outstanding academic results. Those applying for this award must show:

  1. outstanding academic achievement at the national and international level; and
  2. a proof that they are ranked in the top 50% of their class.

 

Requirements

Criteria Results
Average score on student’s report from year 10 to 11 7.6 to 8.0
Average score on student’s report in year 12 7.6 to 8.0
Entrance test score 66 to 75
Certificate/Award Candidates must submit photocopies of certificates or awards which account to a high personal achievement recognized by the related institution.
Organizational activities Candidates must have been involved in a council or organization, and must have held a leadership position. A proof of participation must also be submitted in the form of a reference letter from their principals.
Personal Statement

Leadership Award
Fee Waiver: 25%
This award seeks to obtain students who are able to demonstrate their leadership abilities. Those applying for this award must show a proof of leadership.

 

Requirements

Criteria Results
Average score on student’s report from year 10 to 11 7.6 to 8.0
Average score on student’s report in year 12 7.1 to 7.5
Entrance test score 51 to 65
Certificate/Award Candidates must submit photocopies of certificates or awards which account to a high personal achievement recognized by the related institution.
Personal Statement

Candidates must submit a personal statement depicting:

  1. Why they believe they deserve to recieve the award.
  2. How they will contribute to Indonesia in the future.

(One page maximum)

 

Talent Award
Fee Waiver: 10%
This award seeks to obtain those students who are able to demonstrate volunteering activities, social engagement or a special talent. Those applying for this award must show a proof for either:

  • volunteering;
  • social engagment; or
  • special talent.

 

Requirements

Criteria Results
Average score on student’s report from year 10 to 11 7.5
Average score on student’s report in year 12 7.0
Entrance test score 50
Personal Statement

Candidates must submit a personal statement depicting:

  1. Why they believe they deserve to recieve the award.
  2. How they will contribute to Indonesia in the future.

Terms and Conditions

  1. A student may only receive one award scheme.
  2. Students receiving awards are guaranteed the award for four years at USBI-the Sampoerna University without reapplying provided they maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, evaluated on an annual basis.
  3. Tuition waivers are for USBI-the Sampoerna University tuition fees only. If a student enrolls in a dual-degree program or transfers to a university overseas, the student is responsible for all charges and fees in the partner university.
